Choosing a leather sofa in Ireland
A good leather sofa is one of the hardest-working pieces in an Irish home. It handles busy family evenings, wipes clean easily and looks smart for years. Here are the main things to think about before you choose.
Full leather or half leather?
Full leather sofas, like the Osbourne and Cadiz ranges, are covered in leather all over. Half leather sofas, like Pandora, Torino and Parker, usually use leather on the parts you sit on and touch, with a matching material on the outer back and sides, which keeps the leather look and feel at a friendlier price. You can compare colours and finishes in the sofas on this page.
Recliners: manual or power?
Recliners are a favourite for TV nights. A manual recliner opens with a handle or a gentle push back, while a power recliner moves at the press of a button. Ranges like Cadiz, Osbourne and Torino include power recliner options, and Parker offers a Lift & Rise chair. See every reclining option in our recliner sofas collection, including leather sets such as the Brooklyn and Judy ranges.
Choosing the right size
Many of our leather ranges come as matching sets, such as 3+2, 3+1+1 or 3+2+1, so the sofa and chairs always match.
For bigger rooms, a corner or modular sofa like the Infiniti lets you build the layout piece by piece. Explore more in our corner sofas.
Before ordering, measure the wall space, leave room to walk around it and to open a recliner fully, and check doorways and stairs on the way in. Most product pages include a dimension diagram to help.
Caring for leather
- Wipe spills straight away with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.
- Dust regularly and use a leather conditioner now and then to keep it supple.
- Keep it out of strong direct sunlight and away from radiators and stoves.
- Avoid harsh household cleaners, which can dry out or mark the finish.
